Jingle Bells and New Classes

In Uncategorized on November 21, 2009 at 8:35 pm

Hello All!!!
Well we are now just a few mere weeks from Christmas break and the end of the quarter! This week as you all know is Thanksgiving and I will be coming home on Tuesday evening to spend it in Marysville! I will be tehre through Sunday morning before heading back over here for the final weeks of my second fall at Eastern.
Today I ran in the Spokane Jingle Bell run and it was so much fun! I got a ride in with some AOII girls who are friends and also volunteered as course directors for the run. I ran it in just over 19 minutes and was able to meet a Marysville-Pilchuck grad who graduated with Coach Edens in 94. I placed in the top ten not sure exactly where though. I think 8.
I have one more Jingle Bell Run in Seattle that I am the team captain of and there is still time to join me! It is $30 and if you go to to sign up and put TEAM JINGLE BELLE in the team name you will see my name and can run it with me and 20 other people at the moment! Will you be number 21?
School is going well I have finished a couple of assignments for Special Education that are due Tuesday and I have a speech on Monday that is a Narrative speech that I honestly don’t know what to talk about… Any suggestions? Has to have a moral that I learned something from! So if you have any ideas I am working on that today Let me know! Calc continues to go well!
I also signed up for Classes this past week! It will be a fun winter quarter! on Monday Wednesday and Friday I have a 7 am running class called Bloomsday Preconditioning! It will be so much fun! Also I signed up for Foundations again with a different professor and also I will continue my year of Calculus! Finally I am taking on English 201 with Jeremy Goldman a friend from Marysville. Anyways those are the classes you get to hear about next quarter!
I hope all is going well with you all as we move into this Thankful week and also this Christmas Season!

Running and Reading

Hello All!
Well another week down! Only a few more to go in this quarter! It is going by so fast! Anyways I will dive into the week!
Some of you that I have talked to on the phone in the past couple weeks know that I have once again come down with what I like to call the “whooping” cough. Now before you all start worrying I really don’t have whooping cough I have just come down with this same cough since 7th grade, so that makes 7 years now that I have gotten it. I have been to the doctors a couple of times for it, but not one of them could tell me what was wrong even though I get it so often, it is quite miserable but always comes to pass! If you’re wondering why I call it the “whooping” cough my best friend Ryan Gordon saw it on TV soon after I first got the cough way back when and told me that that’s what I had. So we went with it year after year.
I have been thoroughly enjoying the “job” that the cross country coaches gave me a week ago while cheering on Rachael at State. I have been asked to create a Marysville-Pilchuck HS Cross Country page on Facebook. This past week I went through the thousand plus pictures that Marysville has online for the past 5 Cross seasons. I put on average 130 pictures or so up for each season. It has been so much fun! Plus, I have set up multiple runs that are in the Marysville Area for fun runs. If you know of any please let me know so I can get them up!
So in the coming weeks I will be running a couple of fun runs both Jingle Bell Runs on different sides of the mountains. I will spend this Saturday running in Spokane for the Jingle Bell Run. It will be my first time running it here so it should be an experience. This coming December I will spend my first Sunday morning back in Marysville in Seattle and run the 5k for the Arthritis Foundation there with many other people! It will be fun! If you would like to run in either let me know and I will get information to you!
Now onto school! It is going well had a math test on Friday in Calc that was a bit iffy but I think I did alright. As far as Foundations and those wondering how thats going and whether or not I dropped it or not… Well I had to drop it. I felt terrible about the test Tuesday, so I will be retaking the course next quarter. My other classes continue to go well, I have a speech to give in my class on Wednesday then also again a week from then! I will let you know how those go!
As far as everything else I continue to work and read! I am now reading The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult about 100 pages in.
Well I will be off! Talk to you all later!

Oh it has been so long!

Hello All! Well I must apologize for making this the longest I have not sent you an email without there being a break. I have no good explanation as to why it has been two weeks since your last email except that Cross Country is Amazing!! The past two weekends I have been away from my computer to be with the Marysville-Pilchuck High School Cross Country team who competed very well at districts last weekend. The Boys as a whole placed 6th place as a team, the best that they have done in the 6 years I have been around the program, and the girls placed 12th as a team and sent one girl to State. State was today and I got to see many of the girls and a few of the boys who came over today to Pasco. Rachael Lefstad ran very well for her first time at state, she ran a 19:44 and placed 58th in the field of many more. It was so much fun to watch and be there as a coach for the first time! Congrats to all of the Tomahawks that competed this year! Good luck to the seniors who will be graduating this year, and I will see you next year for those that will return. Now on to other news from my life. School is going well, or as well as can be. I admit that the past few updates I have seemed a bit down about what has been going on with classes and such. The reason for this being that I could possibly be dropping one of my math classes (Foundations) on Monday or Tuesday, before the last day to withdraw. I know this is never a good thing, but the class has just rocked me this quarter and I may be in the situation of having to retake it as is. Otherwise my other classes are going well, I am sitting at a 90% in my quizzes for Calc. and I pulled a 76% on the last test. Speech is delving into a second group speech as I type this to you, and also starting a Narrative story speech that I still need a topic for… Any Suggestions(has to be a story from my life that I learned a lesson from)? Special Education continues to go well, we are moving to the fourth quiz this week and I am averaging a B+ on them. Work continues to be busy work. I am now reading my 8th book of the quarter. I am reading Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult. Ms. Picoult has become one of my favorite authors and she has so many books that I will be able to pick up off the shelf to read at a later date, I have only read 2 others so far and highly recommend them, My Sister’s Keeper (Now a major motion picture) and Handle With Care. Both fantastic. Otherwise I continue to go about my days, and weeks being Brandon, and we all know that there is nothing better for me to be! I hope all is well with all of you! Brandon
